Attorney Samuel (Sam) Payne is a Nashville native. Sam is a graduate (Valedictorian) of FRA; an honors graduate of Vanderbilt University and top graduate (Order of the Coif) of Vanderbilt University Law School. While in law school, Sam was a member of one of the law reviews, serving on the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. Sam is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Alabama. Sam is also admitted to Federal Court in Tennessee.

Sam brings 20 plus years of experience in complex civil litigation to Cody Allison & Associates, PLLC. Sam’s impressive resume includes cases involving claimants’ ERISA long-term disability and retirement benefits, malpractice insurance defense, complex business litigation, and labor and employment (L & E) litigation and training.
Sam is a former partner with several litigation firms in Nashville, as well as a tax litigator with the Tennessee Attorney General’s office. Sam’s wealth of diverse legal experience is a great asset to the clients of Cody Allison & Associates.
Sam and his wife, Deborah, live in Franklin, TN. They have two children (plus two dogs and one cat!)
